Ahh how time flies! I rember taking the photo in this layout one winter day in our last house...The kids were having a blast baking cupcakes for their school...what I love about this layout is the perfect combination of flowers, papers and embelishments. This was also a class at Simply Scrapbook in Bakersfield, CA. For this layout I used Glitz Glam Paper and stickers that go perfectly with Prima bling and flowers.

Hello ladies and gentleman, did you notice that blogger was acting up last week? it was extremely crazy trying to post! Good thing everything is back to normal in the blogging world.
lately I have been experimenting with Mix Media and I got to tell you that it is so much fun, I cannot believe how beautiful things turn out! A simple chipboard piece gets extra special treatment on this project. I will be sharing a tutorial later, so come back and check it out.
Here is what I created for a co worker, she wanted a special gift for her mother and a special gift she got. Using Graphic 45 papers, Tim Holtz dies, Prima flowers, Dusty Attic chipboard (available for sale at my kit blog), Tattered Angels, Rub and Buff and Acrylics I created this Mix Media Album.

The cover features Dusty Attic chipboard (available at my kit club store), Prima flower, Tim Holtz grundge swirl and Graphic 45 paper.

A closer look at the amazing texture you can create by using molding paste, acrylic paint, Tattered Angels Mist and Rub and Buff, love it!

The inside pages are simple yet elegant.

The twill tape also got a make over after I stamped it and Glimmer mist it.

Mix Media Adventure

Hello readers, How was your mother's day? mine was excellent...time well spent with my little family. I received beautiful tokens of appreciation as well as lots of hugs and kisses from the little ones. Moving on to more exciting things...I will be sharing a layout that I made using Mix Media. For this layout I used amazing Pink Paislee House of Three papers, Tim Holtz metals and film strips, 7gypsies clock pieces, Prima and Bazzil flowers, Prima Chipboard, Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Patina, Turquoise and Sand, Distressing Inks, Molding Paste, Magic Mesh for texture, lace, bottle cap, metal heart, pearls, etc.

I began by inking the outside of my paper with Tim Holtz distressing ink I used antiqued linen. After that was dry I glimmer misted with Patina and Sand. Wait for the inks to dry before moving to another color.

Once the glimmer mist dries you can apply molding paste but before it is completely dry create some more texture by using magic mesh and pressing it into the molding paste. Make sure you remove the mesh, then glimmer mist it or apply rub and buff.

Feel free to add flowers, laces and metal pieces to your project. After they are secured apply more molding paste and glimmer mist.

The above close up shows how I created layers. Using lace and molding paste as my base I simply folded a paper flower and applied some molding paste. After that's all dry apply acrylic paint, rub and buff and the film strips.

Georgeous Prima flowers got a little touch up as well, I just added a little Tim Holtz distressing paints and rub and buff. Can you see the texture created by the magic mesh and the molding paste? that's my favorite part, soft and delicate yet it adds an interesting touch.

For my tittles after the base was prepared with molding paste, lace and glimmer misted, I adhered the chipboard, more molding paste and more glimmer mist.

Steampunk- Graphic 45

Hi ladies, it seems like I am always posting quick posts on my blog but that's because I am always on the go. My day usually starts early and finishes late. I wear many hats during work hours and after work too. I wish I had more time to focus on the things I love the most...Anyhow I created this mini sometime ago and I'm just now posting. I used the Steampunk Debutante Graphic 45 line, lots of layers were added for texture, I also used 7 Gypsies rub ons on Prima flowers and metalic markers.

As you can see on this picture I used Tim Holtz hindges and covered it with patina...don't you love the look? I know I do!

For the cover I used plain Bazzil black cardstock and stamped it with Prima Stamps then embossed it with gold embossing powder, I also added some fuzzy cuts and applied stickles.

I got to tell you this is my favorite page in this mini, the layers are amazing. I did a lot of distressing, inking, layering. I also applied 7 Gypsies rub ons to this beautiful Prima Rose and drops of metal paint. Love, love the end result...

Here is a close up at the beautiful Prima flower...also see all the layers??? there's even film strips in there somewhere among all those layers...

This is a more simple page; however, I did use Dusty Attic chipboard (which I will start carring on my kit club blog...just click on the button above), layers of chipboard, cut outs, metal embellishments and rub ons adorn this beautiful page.

Again lots of paper layers and distressing on this mini.

This last photo is so cool because I painted a Maya Road envelope with acrylic paint, added spots of metal paint, and some fuzzy cutting and to top it all off more distressed Prima Flowers. The Prima flowers are beautiful just the way they are but hey why not alter them too??? Well enjoy and don't forget to leave me a little encouraging message...

Mother's Day Cards Parade

For this card besides of Pink Paislee Products I also used Reflections Roses, Wodden Fence and Tim Holtz distressing inks.

This huge butterfly was cut out after using Tattered Angels stamp, adding chunky glitter and applying a Melissa Frances rub on.

My third card was also made with a Reflection Rose and Melissa Frances Resin.

And last but not least my favorite card of the day, features a Melissa Frances Resin Frame that I altered by rubbing some rub n buff in gold, added a Melissa Frances rub on.

Hello ladies, today I just have a quick post. I have created a parade of beautiful Mother's Day Cards suited for Queens. These cards are so girly. I used Pink Paislee Butterfly collection, Melissa Frances Resins, an assorted array of Martha Stewart Punches, vintage seam binding, chunky glitter, laces, flowers and chipboards among other things...I hope this inspires you to create beautiful cards and make someone very happy...

Fairy Tale House

I love spring, the flowers that come after months of rain marks new beginnings. The smell of freshly cut grass brings back great memories of better times...
Right at this moment I want to surrund myself with pretty little things, my children and family. I created this little fairy house for a class over at Simply Scrapbooks; however the paper was completely sold out before I could buy it for my class...sorry ladies!

Hello ladies, I hope all of you are enjoying beautiful weather. I created this beautiful layout using beautiful papers and stickers from Glitz paired with amazing Prima flowers and bling. This line of paper is so versatile, you can use it to create projects for any season, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Fall, or for everyday uses for both boys or girls too. I used Martha Stewart punches, George Cricut cartdrige, Rangers Liquid Pearls, Glitz papers and cardstock stickers.

This layout was so much fun to make, the beauty about Pink Paislee Anthology papers is that they can be painted in any color to match your photos.

Hello ladies, it sure has been a while since I posted a project on my blog, this doesn't mean that I have not made any projects...Since I started a new job I made this cute sign for my cubicle...one of my co workers said "you got to find sunshine anywhere you can around here" so this was my way of finding sunshine in a otherwise dark place.

Kitsky Kitchen Layout...

The wonderful aroma of cupcakes, the smiles on my beautiful kids faces, the precious moments we spent together after a hard day of work...it was all captured by a few photographs. On this layout I choose to only use three pictures. I made this layout some weeks ago but since everything is so crazy around here I will share it with you tonight. For this layout I used the What's Cooking Good Looking kit from Divine Design Kits. I made the big red flower using Tim Holtz die cut and Tattered Angels glimmer mist. Layers of yummy Dusty Attic chipboard painted and distressed add interest to this layout along with Melissa Frances cardstock stickers and rub ons...

Sometimes I forget to thank God for all the things that make me happy, for the things that make me stronger, for the things that make me who I am...sometimes I forget to take a moment to look at the sky and enjoy the beautiful blue and white skies...sometimes I forget to thank God for my family, my friends, my work, my parents, for what I have and for the things I'm working for...but today I remembered to look up, I remembered to give thanks, to tell my children how much I love them, I was on time for work...

Today, is the day to Thank God!

This week's challenge at The Shabby Tea room is to create a card or project based on this delicious picture.

I altered a metal birdhouse I found at Michael's dollar bin.

I made the rosettes using Bazzil cardstock, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Tim Holtz Tattered die cut and distressing inks. I also used the technique I'm going to share...I found this video on you tube and I will share it with you so you can learn how to make this beautiful roses. The process is time consuming but the end result is spectacular.

I took this technique a little bit further and used the same technique for the leaves. I also inked the flower petals with Tim Holtz ink and sprayed T.A glimmer mist. I hung a canvas bird inside the birdhouse with fishing string to give it some movement. Enjoy the video that was created by Janna.

Fabric House Mini Album- Tutorial

Hi ladies, did you have a nice Halloween? I sure did, we started celebrating since Thursday and it's nice to finally be able to put away all the Halloween decorations and costumes. Now that I finally have sometime to sit down I'm going to share how to make this beautiful mini.
I do apologize for not having pictures for this tutorial, but if you have any questions please contact me and I will help you.

Step One:
Cut 2- 6x6 pieces of chipboard or thick cardstock
Cut 2- 6x8 pieces of chipboard or thick cardstock
Draw a horizontal line two inches from the top of your 6X8. (You should end up with a square of 6x6. Next draw a ^ on top of your 6x6 square. The mid point should be at three inches.

Step Two:
Using your fabric, rotary cutter and ruler cut 8- 6.5x 6.5 squares. Also cut 4- 6.5x 2.5 rectangles for the front and back of the house. Now using a fabric marker mark on the wrong side of your fabric your square after you centered (this will give you a guide line when you sew your sleeve). For the square with the triangle on top do the same thing. Pin one of your 6.5x6.5 square to one of the rectangles right sides together. Then sew only the top horizontal edges that you pinned. Next pin two squares right sides together, pin two square with the sewn triangle-right sides together etc. You should now have two sets of squares and two sets of the square with the sewn triangled pinned right sides together.

Step Three:
Sew all your sleeves, leave the bottom part open. Trim as much as you can off the edges and tips. Iron all pieces. Insert your chipboard pieces and sew the bottoms shut. To make this look more professional making a running stich on all four sides of each pannel. Punch out three circles in each pannel.

Step Four:
Paint all your chipboards, resins, wood pieces everything you want to use for this mini. Also, print the picture you are using on printing fabric. Set them aside.

Step Five:
Make a window by punching out 4 squares then glue a piece of lace and adhere it to the pannel. Make a planter by cutting a 1/2 x 2 an inch strip of wooden paper. Then add two small pieces of the same paper for the sides. Using your hot glue fill up most of the planter with hot glue, then add moss and tiny flowers. Adhere with a glue gun. Using a punch make a border and adhere. Then glimmer mist a lace applique and adhere after it's dry. Cut a Welcome sign with your Cricut, then glam it up with some Martha Stewart Glitter. Adhere. Add some Melissa Frances pearls for dimension.

Step Six:
Free draw a door (you can do it), adhere lace around it. Apply chipboard heart and cut out girl from Melissa Frances paper, or print one out from your computer. Create and adhere a paper border, apply a piece of lace. Cut out another image or use a sticker for the wreath. Glue it to the top of your roof. Adhere pear strand and a single pearl as a knob.

Step Seven:
Cut and apply a piece of lace to the top, then add your picture. Cut some flowers from the Madeline K& Co paper. Adhere the flowers and the chipboard, then add a small piece of lace on the left side of your photograph. Glue on the large scroll chipboard, then add a paper small flower and pearls from Melissa Frances. The chipboard scroll and dress form are from The Dusty Attic.

Step Eight:
Cut a small Doilie in half, then place behind a picture. Add a scroll shape after you glitter it. Also, apply some lace under the photo and add some Prima Marketing flowers and a Tim Holtz ticket. Make a bow out of vintage seam binding adhere to a Dusty Attic Vintage Key and apply to the top of your photo.

Step Nine:
Cut and glitter a scroll shape. Apply it to the other half of the doillie, then add some pearls to the scroll and a small paper flower. Adhere then adhere the picture. Apply some lace and a cut out image . Add some painted Tim Holtz scrolls a bow made with pearl strand. Embelish a Prima Flower with coarse glitter and glass shavings. Adhere.

Step Ten:
Cut one of your pictures in a circle and adhere. Cut flowers from Madelline paper and surround the picture. Add lace around the picture and around the top of the triangle. Adhere your scroll on the top, I used Dusty Attic scroll (love them!) . Also, add a small paper rose to the center of your scroll.

Step Eleven:

Cut some ribbon pieces and thread them thru the holes. Tie them together and that's it, easy!

Hi ladies! I recently made a fabric house mini album for a challenge at let's get shabby and I got an honorable mention. I had shared with you ladies that I was going to have a tutorial on how to make this mini, so here is the list of items you will need:

Let's get Shabby- Challenge!

Hello ladies, today I have a project to share with you. The challenge this month over at Let's get Shabby is to use a photo of the kitchen below and to use fabric...and since I don't know how to do things half way I made a mini album out of fabric and chipboard. I made "sleeves" for the chipboard using shabby chic fabric, then I closed the "sleeve" shut. I then embellished the pretty little house with lots of beautiful products from The Dusty Attic, Prima Marketing, K & Co. paper, Maya chipboard, among many other yummy embellishments. I put a lot of love into this project because it will sit on a shelf in my scrapbook area and because the prize is amazing! One lucky person will win a beautiful prize from Maxines Melange! Their stuff is amazing!

Hi ladies, lately I've been a target for negative people in the blogging world. I know there are people who are very insecure about their crafting and their inspiration, but I also know that there are many of us who are willing to help those in need if and when they ask. There is no need for the mean comments...I rather focus on the wonderful people I've meet since I became a member of various scrapbooking communities. So, now that I got that out of my chest I would like to share with the girls who are actually happy and proud of me that my Kitchy Kitchen cupcake is featured in the Melissa Frances blog. Vintage Halloween- The Shabby Tea Room

This week the wonderful Shabby Tea Room has inspire me to participate in their challenge. This is the second time I participate and I got to say that the inspiration photo is amazing! I love Halloween and this week's challenge is all about vintage Halloween. For this challenge I've created a witch hat made with Bazzil Cardstock, Creative Imaginations Paper that I cut out, Cosmo Cricket for the Batty for you banner, my own handmade fabric rosette (see tutorial below), Webster's Pages lace, Prima flowers, Tea stained Cheese Cloth, Matha Stewart glitter and lace.

Lovely Roses Tutorial #1

Oh what a day! I hate going to work, I wish I could just stay home and make lots of pretty things! I do want to take a minute before we get started to thank you ladies for all the wonderful comments, they mean so much!

Okay now for the tutorial: Let's get started once you master this flower you will be able to alter it however you like...

Here is what you need:

Fabric ( I used Muslin)

Needle and thread

Scissors

Pencil

Lace, Ribbons or pearls

Pretty button or vintage jewel

Staz on ink

Stamps

Circle punch

Tim Holtz tea dye distressing ink or you can use tea or coffe

Cardstock (to make your template)

Hot glue gun

Container

Make your template using your chipboard. One petal should be about 2 inches and the other about 1.5 inches in lengh. I simply drew two U shape petals (they don't need to be perfect). Trace and cut petals. I used 9 large and 4 small for my flower.

Using your Staz on ink and your stamps go ahead and stamp the hole petal, it's okay to overlap. Make sure to stamp the edges as well. Then in a container combine Tim Holtz distressing ink with water and bathe your petals in it for a few minutes. Do not rinse. Let dry.

This is how they should look like, you can see how I stamped my petals.

Now, using your needle and thread, make a pleat in the center and stich it in place.

After you are done stiching the pleat place your petal between your thumb and your index finger, now pull with your nail. (I hope this makes sence) You should see that your petal is beggining to curl. Do this to all your petals.

Punch a 1" circle out of paper or if you are going to wear your flower on a shirt you can also cut a circle out of felt. Apply glue to the middle then start placing your petals.

Now cut 4 pieces of lace about 3 inches long. I used Websters Pages Lace, I love Websters!

Again using your thread and needle sew a running stich on one side of the piece of lace. Here's how they should look.

Adhere two pieces of lace and more petals.

Continue layering petals and lace until all your large petals are gone.

Now that you are done with your large petals, adhere your small petals the same way.

Make a small bow using some more lace and adhere on the center of your flower.

Using a glue gun adhere your button or vintage piece of jewelry.

Tear a piece of muslin about 3/4 of an inch by 18, bathe in tea stain ink for a few minutes and let dry. Cut 16 inches or so of different laces and ribbons, again I used Websters laces and velvet ribon.

Apply your ribbon and lace pieces to the back of your beautiful flower and that's it enjoy! You can now add it to a shirt if you glue a pin on the back, or you can use it to decorate just about anything!

Paris here we come tutorial

Bonjour, today I have a tutorial for you lovely ladies! I saw this beautiful suit case over at The Shabby Tea Room blog back in July. I then went on a rampage looking for a template or tutorial with no success...sooo I decided to make my own tutorial.
Once, someone told me that the reason I make beautiful projects is because I buy all my embellishment. Well, today I'm proving that person wrong because I've made all the embelishments for this suit case. A beautiful flower (that will be another tutorial coming soon), a grunge tag, my very own distressed vintage ribbon (this will also be a tutorial coming soon) and of course the suit case itself.
I wanted my suit case to have a French feel to it and I think I achieved the desired effect.
I hope you enjoy making one or more of these beautiful suit cases and be kind enough to leave me a comment to encourage new tutorials...

Ink Pad
Stamps
Laces, Ribbons, Buttons, Tag, Floss and a pretty flower.
Optional: Velcro and a hinge or metal piece to act as a lock, 8 circles of coordinating paper folded in quarters for all corners.

Step 1: You can mix and match your paper
Cut- 2 pieces measuring 6x7
4 pieces of 2x7
4 pieces of 2x6
1 piece of 1.25 x 6 round the corners (optional)

Step 2: Using your ruler and pencil mark 1/4 inch of all the sides on the 6x7 pieces. Fold using your bone folder tool. Also, mark 1/4 on the 2x7 and 2x6 pieces along the narrow sides and fold with your bone folder tool. These tabs will be used for adhering all the parts together.

Step 3: Cut the small square that forms when you mark and fold all the sides of the 6x7 squares.

Step 4: Glue all the pieces together using the tabs we created. Now you have two boxes.

Step 5: Adhere lace vertically and lace or trim around each of your boxes. Inside and outside so they can look pretty once it opens.

Step 6: Cut a 6 inch piece of ribbon. Seal the ends with a lighter. Apply to both of the boxes, half on the top box and half on the bottom box.
Tip: Give a little room for the ribbon to flex so glue a little under half.

Step 7: Bend and shape the 1.25x6 piece of paper to resemble the handle. Adhere on the side you have chosen to have the handle.

Step 8: Now for the fun part, embellish your suitcase. I embellished mine with two vintage buttons and my very own vintage bias tape, I also made a beautiful tag and a flower made with stamped Muslin fabric, vintage jewelry and lace.

Hi ladies, I'm in love with the new Melissa Francess Kitchen line. I made this super cute cupcake mini album to show case my two kids afterschool program; from what I hear they do a lot of cooking! What a week! I never realized how challenging having a girl would be. My five year old daughter just started kindergarten and getting her ready in the morning along with my son and myself has been crazy to say the least! After dropping them off at school I head off to work- which has been extremely busy this last week. Let's not forget all the after school activities like soccer, back to school night, parent teacher conferences, etc!

I do complaint about my busy life but I love it! I wouldn't want to have it any other way. My kids are my life and I adore every crazy minute I spend with them!

Thanks for letting me share my "adventures" in parenting land with you!

I made this beautiful angel, inspired by the challenge at Let's get Shabby but I did not have the time to post it earlier.
Products used Melissa Frances crepe paper, pearls and lace, music sheets, a paper macche dress form from Michael's, Vintage Jewelry, K&Co. Madelline paper, lace and a thrift store find stand.
It was so easy and fun to make! it now sits with all my other dress forms...

Wednesday was a really nice day for me...I actually took a sick day...I woke up early and I hit an antique store called Junkitz in Reno Nevada. The store is awesome there are amazing things and collections but my favorite thing to look at are the buttons...just look at these amazing pictures...all the drawers and all the dressers were filled with beautiful buttons....

My favorite find was a bracelet made with lots of shinny vintage pieces...LOVED it! and of course had to have it!

Hi ladies, tonight I have a beautiful pair of shoes to share with you. These are for a swap over at Scrapbook.com and the requirements are to use a template that they provided. Lots of Divine Embelishments and Papers on these beautiful shoes...These are my practice shoes...

For these shoes I used Websters Pages Baby to Bride papers, Webster blooms and trims, my own vintage bias tape, white paper rose covered with Tattered Angels, Wrights pearls, Prima Lace Flower and Vintage Jewelry...Enjoy!

Fly away Butterfly...

Sometimes there are songs that touch you, that make you think, that dear daughter loves...This mini album was based on a song by Miley Cirrus called Fly Away. I wrote the lyrics on the first page and I really hope my daughter follows her dreams and makes all her wishes come true...

This mini was made using Maya Road canvas album and flowers, Divine Design Vintage Garden paper kit, Prima felt branch and chipboard, Tim Holtz alcohol inks, Websters pagers bloomers from the DDK June kit, molding paste and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Here is what I did:

First, remove the canvas cover then apply molding paste to the inside of the chipboard album and let dry.

Second, Spray canvas cover with Suede, Patina and Lemon grass Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist or TAGMM.

Third, apply Alcohol inks to the Prima chipboards, adhere along with Flowers, Rhinestones and pearls and cut out butterfly.

Fourth, glimmer mist the websters pages blooms with Suede T.A.G.M adhere

Fifth, Glimmer mist the pocket with Patina and Suede T.A.G.M. Stamp using Staz On and Tim Holtz/Prima Stamps. Sew on Jennie Bowlin button. After molding paste is dry (make sure it's really dry) mix about a teaspoon of water and a drop of tea dye distressing ink then brush on the inside of the album. Stamp and adhere another butterfly...remember this is the main theme.

Sixth, cover your page with Prima Paper, using scrap pieces cut two squares, distresse them and adhere. Apply some lace after spraying glimmer mist. Apply the flowers, Tim Holtz swirl and the dollar find metal word after your dab it with tea dye distressing ink. For the opposite page do the same thing only apply a big flower- I found those flowers at the Fashion District in L.A. I glimmer mist them and distressed them with Tim Holtz inks...

Seventh, cover page with Prima Paper then cut another piece of paper that has flowers. Adhere. Paint/distress the chipboard (if you don't have a photo yet just adhere the left side). Adhere some pearls and butterfly. On the opposite side just cover with paper.

This page is a little bit more tricky if you never used molding paste. You got to work fairly fast. Cover page with Prima paper. Cut a piece of lace that's slightly bigger than the page. Apply some molding paste with a brush then add your lace, crunch it...let it dry. While that page is drying make a small bunch of flowers; I glimmer mist a small bunch of white paper flowers with T.A.G.M in red velvet...

After molding paste is dry...with the help of my embossing gun I sprayed Patina TAGM and tea dye Tim Holtz distressing ink. Apply pearl strand and distressed metal word.

The pocket was sprayed again with glimmer mist in patina and suede, I then stamped using a Prima stamp and applied a Maya Road velvet flower.

Lastly, distressed the back page with tea dye distressing mixture...

It's finally Friday! time to relax...Don't you wish you were somewhere on a white sandy beach??? I know I do! With that thought in mind I created a card for an awesome card sketch blog. Cardabilities offers sketches to create beautiful cards! Go on and check them out!

I totally love the patina color on the fish, it almost looks realistic! For this card I used papers from Graphic 45, Tattered Angels Seaside Glimmer Chips, Patina, Tiger Lily, Coffe and Irridesent Gold Glimmer Mist. Also a punch from Martha Stewart and fish netting from the dollar store.

Hello, once again I'm here to share with you my July Layout for the Lipstick Girls Blog. If you haven't heard of their blog go ahead and check them out, the inspiration is fantastic. All you have to do is Scraplift one or more of the DT Lipstick Chick's Layouts or project for a chance to win amazing products.

I named this Layout her dark side because of several reasons. One because I'm sporting my new Coach sunglasses, two because usually I make layouts with a shabby feel and this one is more on the dark side, three the requirements for this month's layout was to use black/white and red. And finally because we all have a dark side...my dark side is reading or watching shows that cover crimes like 48 hrs, CSI, Criminal Minds, Dr. G Medical Examiner, etc.
For this layout I used: Maya Chipboards cover with paint and gold leaf, Tim Holtz grunge board and gold leaf, Paper flowers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Velvet and Slate, Summer in Paris Cricut Cartridge, Stickles and my very own handwriting...

A few cards

I'm back this time I made a few cards for a couple of challenges, but as we all know sometimes life gets in the way of posting on time...there are times when Murphy's Law takes over your life...
This first card I made for the challenge at Cardabilities if you have not heard of their site go check it out; their sketches are amazing! This card was made with Fancy Pants papers, Martha Stewart Punch, Maya Road chipboards, Acrylic Paint, American Crafts Rub ons and little beads.

The second and third cards were made for The Shabby Tea Room an inspiring place for all your paper crafting projects. This week's challenge was to use the colors limegreen, cool blue and pink. I made the first card then I realized that I had left out the blue. I made this card using scraps of EK Success paper, Tattered Angels Cosmo Glimmer mist for the cardstock (yes I ran out of pink cardstock so I had to make my own), beautiful bias tape and a to dye for button I bought las week while I was at the Fashion District in Los Angeles...

The second card was made by creating my own background, simply spray and blot the glimmer mist with a dry paper towel, then for the sand use Snow Tex, simply add a few drops of Tim Holtz tea stain to the mix and spread it on the bottom portion of your cardstock. Paint the Tattered Angels Chipboard using a brush then apply Lemongrass Glimmer Mist all over the chipboard just to have the other glimmer mist kind of spread...Also, I went on line and printed a cute vintage couple sitting on the beach, which added some more romance to the card...

Happy Independence Day! How did you celebrate your Independence? For my family and me it was a traditional BBQ at the park, fireworks with the kids and watching the best fireworks display. What I love about my country is simply the freedom; the freedom to express myself in many ways. Without freedom we would not be able to post in our blogs, we would not be able to create beautiful things, we would not be able to have friends who have a passion for paper crafting....I often think about those who are not allowed to express themselves freely ...I hope you enjoyed your independence day and your freedom...

Anticipation Mini Album- June Kit...plus tutorial.

1. Cut and adhere a piece of the out for a stroll paper that is included in the June Anticipation Kit. Adhere lace and pearl. Apply stikles and bloom.

2. Inside page: Cut and adhere a piece of the Puppy Dogs & Pigtails also included in the June Anticipation Kit. Adhere a small square piece of the out on a stroll paper. Adhere photo. Cut, puch with a scalloped edge and ink a strip of the out on a stroll paper, adhere. Adhere Melissa Frances resin. Glue a small pearl to the resin. Add the oval Melissa Frances sticker after you ink it. Apply Melissa Frances rub on and heart chipboard. Make holes.

3. Cut, distress and adhere a 5.5 x 5 square of the Arrival paper. Be Careful when cutting this paper you do NOT want to cut the part of the paper that reads "Your Birthday" on the opposite side. Cut a 5.5 piece of the lace that's included in your kit. Adhere. Cut and glue a small piece of the Puppydogs & Pigtails. Apply two of the Melissa Frances Playing cards stickers after they have been distressed with distressing inks. Apply the Melissa Frances sticker to a piece of the out on a stroll paper, trim with decorative scissors. Apply pearls and bow. Glue the Melissa Frances glitter heart. Run a paper flower (included on your kit) on a distressing ink pad, then spray with water or Tattered Angels Irridesent Gold glimmer mist. Adhere.

4. Now let's work on our tags. For the one on the right you need to cover it with the Out on a Stroll paper. Add photo, lace and pearl strand. Using one of the playing cards apply a MF rub on, and a flower with a pearl center. Make a button by punching a 1" circle then two small circles. Paint, sand and glitter the button. Add the twill tape found in your kit.

5. For the other tag cover it with Dreamland paper, stich and distress the edges. Create a lollipop flower by drawing circles then cutting them and crumbleling the paper. Add a Websters Pages Sprinkler in the center. Then draw and cut the leaves, you can also use a cutter if you feel more comfortable.

6. Cover the page with the Puppydogs and Tails paper. Cut and punch a small strip of the Out on a Stroll piece of paper, then adhere. Punch a 1" circle, adhere. Apply a Melissa Frances rub on. Adhere two MF glitter hearts and a WP Sprinkler. Don't forget to adhere your photo before the hearts go on.

7. Using the In Due Time paper, trace and cut a page then cut it in half, horizontally. Be careful not to cut the flowers in the middle. Adhere one side showing the flowers and the other side showing the plaid. Add liquid pearls and rub on. Add photo. Cut about 2" of the lace from your kit make a knot in the center and adhere. Hand cut a little girl from the Puppydog & Tails paper, adhere. Apply red stickles and let dry.

On the Boardwalk

I can almost feel it, I know it will be here soon...I miss it, don't you? I miss the warmth of the sunshine touching my skin...Summer I wish you were here!
When people think of California they immediately think of sunshine, perfect weather and beaches, well that's not necessarily true in Northern California...I'm still wearing a heavy coat when I go to work. Yes, work that's one of the main reasons I have not been able to update my blog. But today with a little luck I'm bringing you a double layout of my two nieces. For this layout I used Graphic 45 papers, fish net from the dollar bin, Tim Holtz fragments and distressing inks, rub ons, star fish from Michaels and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist.

I admit it, this is not the type of layout that I usually make but it is a heart breaker one. My daughter loves that song and sings it with all her little heart. The songs lyrics are very powerful to me, because I know I won't be able to protect my babies everytime their little heart gets hurt and eventually I'll have to set them free...

When I was a little girl I remember wanting to be a fashion designer, but not just any type of fashion designer I wanted to design wedding gowns. I decided to make a couple of cards in the shape of dresses using Melissa Frances Products such as: MF crepe paper, Vintage Posey paper and chipboard, MF pearls, Tim Holtz distressing inks, Tattered Angels, My own distressed bias tape, Cricut Expression, chipboard and Martha Stewart glitter.

I saw a video on youtube on how to use Tim Holtz fragment charms so that's what I did, using Graphic 45 left over from mi amore layout I created for Simply Scrapbooks. I also used Websters Pages lace and ribbon, Prima Marketing paper flowers,Making Memories key charm, Tim Holtz inks, beads and enclosures from Joanns.

Here is a quick tutorial:
1. Choose the fragment charms and trace them on to the paper you want to use
2. Cut the paper and make a hole at the top, apply glue to the paper and adhere to the fragment you choose. Let them air dry.
3. Create your chain by doubleling up...I did two loops one was 10 inches and the other 11 inches. Add your closures.
4. Bead your string making it 10.5 inches. Add jump rings to ether end. Attach to your chain.
5. Add your lace skip every 3 links. Tie a knot at both ends.
6. Add your tags (after they are completely dry)using large jump rings. Add the bow.
7. Altered the Prima flower by running it on top of Tim Holtz distressing inks, then spray with water...you will notice a change on the color. Add a safety pin or if you have a pinback that will fit your flower use that..

Well I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial, it was so much fun!

Spring has sprung...

Before I began with my post I would like to thank all my readers for their support. As you can see I am in no way a writer I am simply a crafter who loves to create and make friends all over the world. Thank YOU for reading this blog...

On another note and looking at some beautiful spring flowers outside the window (not mine but my neighboors) I was inspired to make something pretty for my soon to be new but old scrapbook room. I used Shabby Chic fabric from Rachel Ashwell, lots of pretty stuff from Melissa Frances, Webster's Pages, Tattered Angels, Tim Holtz, my Cricut and Storybook cartridge. The picture quality is not the best I will try to re take them...

Hola! en honor del dia Nacional de Scrapbook las chicas de Divas in Recycling estan celebrando con un blog hop. Como funciona un blog hop? Las chicas de Divas in Recycler pidieron que pusieramos un projecto utilisando cosas recycladas. Para crear mi chandelier yo use un gancho de fierro, la portada de un cuaderno y hilo. Esta idea vino del blog 504 donde la creadora original uso ojas de un libro. Yo he usado su projecto original y le he dado mis propios toques por que use papel de scrapbook, liston que yo misma he hecho con bias tape y Tattered Angels, bling de plastico que, las piesas de abajo fueron hechas con la portada de un cuaderno y mi Cricut. Que les parece? La idea de usar tijeras, maquina de coser y el maniquin me parecio perfecta para celebrar el Dia Nacional de Scrapbook. Hi, today I have a wearable project to share with you ladies. I have altered another Prima Marketing Apron and yes I'm still waiting on raffleling a blank Prima Marketing Apron...so if you want in on the action all you have to do is purchase something from Divine Design Kits...For this apron I used the printable fabric you iron on. All I did was to cut very close to the letter then simply follow the instrucions on the package. I also used lots of Prima Marketing goodies that were included on my now sold out Vintage Garden Kit.

Let's get Shabby Challenge

Hi! I've been trying to upload this project for a challenge at Let's get Shabby but I've been having problems with my computer. Anyhow, the challenge was to create an Easter Project. I altered a watering can with a vintage image that says "Easter Greetings, Prima flowers, Melissa Frances Lace, altered bias tape and buttons. Nothing screams Spring like a watering can and I am dying to see flowers bloom, one of my neighboors has a beautiful cabagge rose garden...hmmmm. But back to the challenge, I painted the paper mache watering can, distressed it with Tim Holtz inks, added Martha Stewart glitter, added all the embellies and Moss yes that messy moss you can find at Michaels or Joanns among many other stores. Piensa Scrap Challenge

Hi all, this is a post from the land of far, far away...not really but I am far away from home. Today I'm leaving you with a post for Piensa Scrap. The challenge for this month is to crate a layout that's 6x12. I had never made a 6x12 layout because I usually scrap 12x12, and I was thinking how am I going to save this layout???? the solution was not only to create a layout but a hangging layout. I used lots of pretty pastel colors for this one and photos of my nephew and niece. I also used distressed bias tape to hang it and to make a bow.

Products used: Melissa Frances paper, chipboard and lace, Tim Holtz inks, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Cropadile, Prima flowers and my own handmade distressed bias tape. Thanks for looking...

El challenge se trataba de hacer un layout de 6x12, como yo solo ago layouts de 12x12 pense como lo boy a guardar...la solucion fue de no solo hacer el layout de 6x12 pero de tambien hacerlo para colgarlo en mi pared. Para este layout use colores pasteles, fotos de mis sobrinos y liston estressado que yo hice usando Tattered Angels y bias tape. Perdon por mi espanol chueco, mi assesora Dora anda mega ocupada con su mansion nueva....que disfruten su dia!

Hello, today I'm asking all my followers to please open your hearts and wallets and donate anything you can affort to donate. As you may or may not know a terrible earthquake 7.2 magnitude hit Mexicali a border city with California on Easter Sunday. This earthquake hits home as I was born there. Currently people are stuck without water because one of the major bridges in this city collapsed causing a river to overflow and even cutting off water supplies to most of the citizens. I beg all of you to please find the will to donate anything even if it's a dollar. Thank YOU!

A few nights ago I had a heart to heart talk with my husband. As you may or may not know we moved from Central California to Northern California because of his work with the state of California were he works as a Peace Officer. When we moved we left our home behind and we are currently renting a duplex. I found out that renting is a real adventure. Often my kids ask "mom when are we going home?". I usually tell them we are home...as long as we are all together we are home; and that's the reason we moved to be near dad. I truly value the fact that my husband is such a wonderful father and I need to have our kids near him; and that's why I couldn't live 8 hours away from him anymore...

For this project I used lots of goodies such as: Prima Papers and flowers from my Butterfly kit, Graphic 45 papers, Music sheets from a 1820 book, Tim Holtz inks and chipboard, Martha Stewart glitter, Darcie chipboard house, Tattered Angels chipboard, glimmer mist and Jenni Bowlin bingo cards. I distressed the pink ribbon with tattered Angels and it will be available for purchase here soon.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time a boy asked a girl out and ever since then they lived happily ever after...yes it could happen, in fact my brother asked me to start a scrapbook of his family and this is the first page. Since I live so far away from his home I made the page and for blog purposes added a photo of my kids. This layout will eventually have a photo of his family.

I made this layout using papers and flower from my Vintage Garden Kit, available here...

My kids love going to the park, I'm not sure what they talk about when I'm not near them. Here is one of those times captured on film...

For this layout I used my new Tattered Angels, using the heart glimmer screen and the S.W.A.K glimmer mist from my kit along with the Black Magic glimmer mist for the flowers and the Prima felt. The paper is from Little Yellow Bicyle and the flowers are from Prima Marketing, the big black flower is from some pants I bought but didn't like the flower where it was soooo I took it off and saved it for later...The gray flowers were also included in my Vintage Garden Kit and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

This layout has been such a challenge for me...you might ask why??? Well, most of my work has some type of femenine feel to it and I decided to step out of the box and participate in a challenge. This challenge was to create a "manly" layout...NO FLOWERS allowed. Here is what I came up with.

Spring is in the air...the smell of flowers, the fresh air, the birds chirping they all have put me in a romantic mood...

I created two different cards using pretty much the same products...yes they are left overs from my Butterfly kit...all I added was the vintage images from my stash.

Products used for the first card: Prima paper, twill tape, Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Cherub Pink (just a coincidence), Crafty Secrets stamps, Tim Holtz ink and wrights lace.

The second card was made using: Prima Papers, Making Memories label and leaves, Wrights lace, Crepe paper and Tim Holtz inks.

Piensa Scrap Challenge~

Hola! Today I have an entry for a challenge at Piensa Scrap. The girls are asking to make a container using scrapbooking supplies and this is what I came up with. I used a Maya Road tin box (it had clocks in it), painted it with acrylic paint, then distressed it. I also used my Mariposa paper to make the background and Tattered Angels chipboard for the tag. I made the paper flower using my Cricut Expression. Inside the box there are delicious Milano Cookies. Enjoy!

Hola! Las chicas de Piensa Scrap tienen un challenge de hacer un regalito para guardar dulces, galletas o chocolates...pero usando cosas de scrap. Yo use una cajita de metal de Maya Road antes tenia relojes adentro. La cajita fue pintada con acrylico, destressada, le agrege un mono de chaffon, hice dos flores con mi cricut, y el background es hecho con papel de mariposa. La tag es hecha con papel de mariposa y Tattered angels chipboard. Adentro de la cajita hay deliciosas galletas Milano...Gracias por sus comentarios.

Mini Album Butterfly

Today I just have a little 6x6 mini album to show you. I made this mini using the DCWV Mariposa stack. The Latin Divas over at Scrapbook.com have a swap and I hope I can get them motivaded to participate by showing them a simimar album to the one they will be getting. For this mini I used many goodies such as Tattered Angels chipboards, Stamps. Websters Pages lace, Martha Stewart Glitter, Spanish sentiments rub ons (Thank You Jacky), Tim Holtz inks, and embossing powder. There are many techniques in this little book embossing, masking, inking etc. The bling on the side I got at a store in southern California and I just fell in love with it!

Hi! today while talking to one of my friends I realize that there are a lot more things I want to do in this world. Everyday I thank God for having a second chance. I am human and sometimes I do forget to live life to it's fullest and to forget about the little things or unperfect things. I never forget to tell my family that I love them because I never know when I will be gone...with that in mind I made a little book using scraps and the packaging of my new Prima goodies. I used the packages as journaling spots, accent and the main pages for my m.a. Thanks for looking and for the lovely comments.

Products used: Prima packaging, Prima flowers, Prima bling, Prima stamps, Websters Pages stickers, Making Memories stickers, Tim Holtz inks, Tattered Angels inks.

1. Add two strips of Prima paper to a 4x6 piece then using a M.S lace punch punch the ends, Add Prima and Websters Stickers.

2. Mist Prima chipboard Stickers with Tattered Angels glimmer mist add to cover, add Prima flower and photo.

3. Cut the brackets from a Prima Package adhere to a 4x6 paper, punch the ends using M.S punch.

4. Add Prima Chipboard Stickers, flowers, and say it in pearls.

5. Punch a butterfly out of a small piece of Prima paper using M.S punch. Adhere.

6. Adhere a 4x6 piece of Butterfly Prima Paper, lace and pearls to a Prima package. Glimmer mist a Prima flower. Adhere the flower and leaves. Stamp a cherub using Prima No.2 stamp set on a transparency, cut and adhere.

7. Glimmer mist Prima Felt. Cut a 4x6 piece of Prima paper and a 3/4 inch of paper adhere to a Prima Package. Add Prima felt, flower, chipboard and stamp image from the No.2 Prima Stamp set. Add lace and Making Memories tiny alphabet stickers after inking them.

8. Again add a 4x4 to two 1 strip of Prima papers after punching them with M.S lace punch. Adhere Prima chipboard, stickers, say it in pearls, flower and leaves. Add a punched butterfly, Websters Pages stickers and a embellished pin. (Thanks Amy aka Ms. Moey)

9. After Adding paper to the Prima Package, fold a Prima Say it in Pearls package in half, cover the inside wih Prima papers and use if for journaling. Apply glue to ONLY half of the back of the Prima Package after adding a piece of ribbon. Add Prima chipboard, flowers. Add the pearl strand, Making Meories tiny alphabet.

This is how the Prima Packaging journaling spot should look like. You can find all the Prima Marketing products to make this Mini in my Butterfly Kit. Enjoy!

My funny Valentine's

Hi! today I want to share a few projects that I have been working on. The inspiration for my banner came from beautiful doilies and vintage paper from fancy pants. I created a Valentine's banner using Wilton's doilies. Who said those are to be used exclusively to decorate your cakes? now a days they are everywhere so why not on a banner? I also made a mailbox for my son's (who is 7) girlfriend. I added her initials to her box using amazing Tattered Angels Chipboard, Glimmer mist and their wonderful stamps.

The project that I am most proud of is my soon to be God daugher-she is an angel! I made a mini album using Michael's dollar chipboard mini albums, Melissa Frances embelishments, Tattered Angels Chipboard and Glimmer mist. Hola! Hoy les voy a mostrar tres projectos en los que he estado trabajando. El primero es un banner que hice usando Wilton's doilies y papeles muy bonitos de Fancy Pants. Wise words by a very talented woman...Mrs. Melissa Phillips. Her amazing talent inspires many people and her words are equally powerful. I realize what she meant when I looked at my scrapbooking area...it was not pretty...so what did I do you might ask??? Well, I made things pretty. Here are my two projects of the day. The first one is a birdcage I purchased at Joanns for $13.00 or so. I used many Prima flowers along with Tattered Mist, Joann's flowers and lace I got from a lace swap. The second project is an altered journal...it will help me put all my thoughts and ideas in one spot. I used Websters Pages papers, stickers, fancies, calendar spots and lace, Prima centers and lace, Martha Stewart glitter, Melissa Frances embellie and Kraft pearls. Sweet Angel Cupcake

Remember when you first saw your newborn baby? the sweet look on his or her face? ahh how fast time flies...I got photos of my cousins baby and the first thing to pop into my mind is how sweet her photos were. I made a cupcake mini album using old cd's. This project was featured at divas in recyling but I made it mine simply by adding little touches and making the top a little bit more shabby. For all the details on how to make this project click here. The instructions are in spanish but I'm sure you can figure it out. As for my topper I punched 1" circles and glued them all around the top. Added a doilie and topped with 3 layers of coordinating flowers and a pin. Thanks for visiting!

JOY wall art tutorial

Happy Tuesday! Christmas is almost here and it's also one of my favorite times of the year...I love the smell of fresh pine and baked cookies. Tomorrow we will go out to a tree farm and cut a nice pinetree. Thursday night after dinner we will decorate it with wonderful ornaments that I'm working on. The colors I have choosen for this year are brown, red, green and rust...

I made a wall decoration using items from the dollar store and some scrapbooking supplies.

Here is what you will need:
1. Silver trays- dollar store
2. Oval doilies- dollar store
3. Ribbon- dollar store
4. Flowers and leaves- dollar store
5. Tim Holtz distressing ink
6. Martha Stewart- glitter
7. Cricut
8. Story book cartridge
9. Cardstock
10. Glue
11. Scissors
12. Crop a dile

Instructions:

1. Using your crop a dile make two holes on each of the silver trays
2. Ink your doilies using Tim Holtz ink adhere to tray
3. Cut your letters from cardstock and add glitter

4. Once the letters are dry adhere to doilie

5. Add ribbon and make a bow

6. Glue green leaves and flower to the bow
7. Hang and enjoy

The weather is horrible today...so it was the perfect time to create a card for the 2 Sketches 4 you challenge. I really like the way this one turned out. I used Basic Grey paper, Martha Stewart glitter, Life Journey's sticker, Michael's rub on and pearls. Thanks for looking...

Wire Flower Tutorial

Did you like the flowers I created for the challenge at Let's get Shabby??? well if you did here are the instructions.

What you need:
Floral wire
Glue
Ribbon
Glimmer Mist or Alcohol ink
Scissors
Candle or liquid Fray
Patience

Here are the steps:
1. Determine the size of flower you want and figure out how big you want the petals to be. I made mine using around 4" of wire but it's totally up to you. The best thing to do is to play with different sizes.
2. Create a petal using the floral wire.
3. Glue the floral wire to ribbon and let it dry for at least 2 hrs. Make sure the wire is completely glued to the ribbon. After two hours or so cut around the wire.
4. Carefully "run" petals using a candle or use fraying glue.
5. Ink or mist petals with Tattered Angels glitter mist or Tim Holtz ink
6. Gather 2 petals, twist; then gather 3 more twist. Put the two groups together and done!
7. Now for the fun part...embellish you flower(s) with pearls, buttons, glitter or just about anything...

Hi!! I hope everyone is having lots of fun preparing for Thanks Giving. At my house it's a tradition to sit down, give thanks and have a fabulous dinner. This month's challenge at Let's get Shabby is to make our own embellishments. I have created three wonderful flowers and leaves using wire, ribbon, glue, Tattered Angels spray mist, Tim Holtz alcohol inks and pearls. I will have a tutorial. I hope you enjoy it...

Products used: Tim Holtz alcohol ink and distressing inks and stamp, Tattered Angels spray mist and chipboard, Prima pearls,Martha Stewart punch,flower wire, Acid free tacky glue, Misc music sheet (from a book printed in 1820), Corecolor cardstock and color box ink.

Oh only if we had the power to stop time...our children would always stay little, we would stay young (hmmm), parents would never part, grandparents would spoil us forever...I told my daghter one day "I don't want you to grow up, I want you to be my little girl forever" so now she goes around telling people that her mom told her she has to stay little...lol

Happy Monday! I received many goodies from Bluemoon Scrapbooking so I created two
wonderful cards based on Kazan's and Laura's sketch. Here is what I came up with...
The first card I used K&Co chipboard and paper, Martha Stewart punch and glitter, misc flower, lace, ribbon and cardboard.

For the second card I used K& Co papers, Websters pages days of the week journal spots,Maya Road sheer clock, Melissa Frances rose accent, Cricut and George cartridge.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge- Wish upon a star

Hi, this challenge was so much fun...as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do...a dimentional star. On the inside I stamped the words upon a star with my Making Memories foam stamps that I had since a couple of years ago.
Products used: Tattered Angels chipboard, Martha Stewart mica flakes, Tim Holtz ink, K &Co paper, Cricut Expression and George cartridge, misc flower and cardboard. Thanks for looking!

Happy Tuesday!!!! well for me it's more like Wednesday...I have Friday off! Hopefully I will have time to scrap...maybe in my dreams...I already have things to do. I will be taking my DD and her BBF to the pumpkin patch...oh where does time go??? I know they will have a great time and I really do enjoy spending time with my DD she's my little angel...
Here is a LO I made using K&Co paper, Tim Holtz distressing inks, lots of Prima flowers, gate, chipboard and jewels, Making Memories sticker, new Graphic 45 paper, misc lace and Cricut Expression.

Peace on Earth~ 2 Sketches for You Challenge

Happy Friday* ahhh what a week, the only thing on my mind this week is to create...but it's been pretty busy around here, still I managed to get a card done for this week's challenge at 2S4Y. Kazan's sketch is out of this world!!!

I created this card by cutting each wreath leaf by hand, then inking each piece with Tim Holtz ink, followed by curling the beautiful Graphic 45 paper. I love the texture I achieved by only pasting the tip of each leaf. I also made the bird using my Cricut, recycled chipboard and acrylic paint then adding lots of glitter. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend...

I'm just in a card making overdrive...I made this one using wonderful clip art and Martha Stewart glitter, a wonderful page of childrens songs from 1880's that I purchased at a consignment store...(the owner was sad to see this wonderful book go...)K& Co paper, Webster's Pages Paper, Making Memories rub ons and Tim Holtz book plate.
